Innovative approaches to carboxyperitoneum creation: experimental developments and clinical perspectives
Objective: To analyze literature on devices for minimizing injuries to internal organs and vessels during laparoscopic access.Babaevskaya D.I., Vovdenko S.V., Taratkin M.S., Matkovskiy I.A., Gazimiev M.-S.A.
Article search was performed in Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Original English-language studies with clinical data on relevant devices were included.
Nine studies on devices reducing complications during abdominal puncture or first trocar placement were analyzed. Three key approaches were identified: Veress needle modification, abdominal wall lifting devices, and needle-adjacent tissue visualization.
Conclusions: Devices improving needle control and abdominal wall retraction successfully establish access in experiments. Prospective clinical studies are needed to confirm their effectiveness in reducing complications.
